As a child, I would often spend time sitting on the floor of our local village hardware store creating a little world from knobs, hinges, pulleys, and anything else shiny.  Since then I have developed a decorative aesthetic that explores relationships between decorative art, novelties, manufacturing, consumer appeal, and hand-crafted objects.  My inspiration is often derived from seeking a resolution between today's consumer marketplace culture and an idealized American past.  I seek to unite hand-crafted and fabricated components with altered & deconstructed found objects, commercially available parts, decorative accents, household hardware, jewelry findings, and sewing accessories.  Each sculpture may be temporary and often reconfigured, a collection of parts physically held together by tension.

Parts of Spinner, A Balancing Act lived in a drawer whose contents I tinkered with while contemplating time. At some point, I found the ending for this one, but there are still more parts.
